The Project
Preparing A PVC Flat Roof For Solar Panels
We recently returned to this flat roofing project in Avon Castle, Dorset, to install ICB Solarfix bars onto a PVC membrane roof — an innovative system designed to make fitting solar panels to flat roofs simple, secure and reliable.
This is a quadruple garage roof we completed some months ago, and this visit was purely to supply and fit the Solarfix bars in preparation for solar panels — no work was needed on the roof itself.
One of the biggest advantages of the Solarfix system is that it’s fully compatible with PVC roofing membranes, meaning solar panels can be installed without compromising the roof or affecting the manufacturer’s warranty.
It’s always great to revisit a completed project and help prepare it for a more sustainable future. KJM Roof & Build Ltd carries out flat roofing and solar-ready roofing projects across Dorset, Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

ICB Solarfix Bars For Solar-Ready Flat Roofs
ICB Solarfix bars are designed to make fitting solar panels to flat roofs simple, secure and reliable. They’re fully compatible with PVC roofing membranes, so panels can be installed without compromising the roof or affecting its manufacturer’s warranty. They are a practical option for new flat roof installations, existing PVC membrane roofs and property owners planning ahead for solar.
