The Project
A Durable Single-Ply Flat Roof Extension
This flat roof extension in Tincleton, Dorset, was completed using Alwitra VSK single-ply membrane, installed directly onto the prepared plywood deck for a durable, watertight and long-lasting finish.
You’ll notice the stepped perimeter detail around the edge. This isn’t just for looks — it allows the soffit overhang to remain uninsulated, keeping the fascia height lower and creating a cleaner, more attractive roofline.
Careful detailing is essential on every flat roofing project, and we’re delighted to have completed another high-quality roof extension for a happy customer. KJM Roof & Build Ltd provides flat roofing and single-ply roofing services across Dorset, Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

Why Use a Stepped Perimeter on a Flat Roof?
Around the edge of the flat roof, the stepped perimeter allows the soffit overhang to remain uninsulated, which keeps the fascia height lower. This creates a cleaner, more attractive finish where the roofline meets the walls and avoids a bulky, oversized perimeter edge.
